Event Planning 

For those who froth over a spreadsheet, have great organisation and communication skills and love creating amazing experiences for customers, then a role in event planning could be your calling! Many hotels, venues and even cafes have event spaces or conference rooms that are rented out for various events such as meetings, weddings, birthdays etc. Behind every great event is a fantastic event planner that works with the venue or individual to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Jobs within this role include designing and planning decorations, organising facilities such as catering, entertainment, transportation, location, equipment and promotional material and managing marketing, HR and staff. 

Executive Chef

Take advantage of your love for food with a managerial role that oversees the food operations in restaurants, hotels, casinos and other food service venues. People who act as the executive chef supervise cooks, sous chefs and kitchen hands. Not only this, but they are generally in charge of all the food, meal planning and preparation. You can get to this role in two ways: 1) work your way up from an entry-level position or head to TAFE and brush up on your culinary skills.
