What is your greatest weakness?

The most difficult of them all…

Employers will ask this question to gauge your self-awareness and in this case, honesty is the best policy. Be truthful about what you believe your greatest weakness is in the workplace.

However, it should be something that will not affect your job performance to a great extent and something that you are currently working to improve on.

Answers such as:

“I have a difficult time asking for help”

“I find it hard to say no”

These responses properly answer the question, but do not pose a big threat to your job performance.

Why do you want to work here?

This may seem like a straightforward question, however, there is a lot to consider when responding.

While it is important to discuss how this position could advance your career, employers usually ask this question to make sure you’ve put thought and research into your decision to seek employment at their company specifically.

Research the company, their values and communicate what it means to you to work there and how you would fit into their environment.

In summary, being honest about your skills and experience, and being able to differentiate yourself from other candidates are the best ways to be successful in a job interview.
